Volunteer Community Hospital has a Director of Pastoral Care, who is a full time staff chaplain. This individual provides pastoral care for patients, their families and our staff. A chaplain must have special educational training in order to provide counseling and spiritual guidance in the hospital setting. Either the staff chaplain or a volunteer chaplain is available at all times. Their services are offered to all persons with sensitivity and respect for ethnicity and religious diversity.
The Nancy E. Savage Memorial Chapel is always open to provide a haven for prayer and meditation. Holiday and other special services are held in the chapel for patients, families, visitors and hospital staff.
The chaplain is also active in the Martin Ministerial Association and other ecumenical activities in the community.
